Feminine Yet Tough

(Dress: Sugarlips, Leather Jacket: All Saints, Shirt: H&M, Belt: Urban Outfitters, Boots: Mossimo - Target, Glasses: Warby Parker

Good morning, everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Thursday. I'm currently on my spring break, and though, the break is nice, I wouldn't consider this to be spring quite yet, given that the past few days we've had on and off snow flurries. The end of March and snow flurries, strange, no?

Anyway, about the outfit... I recently received this stunning dress in the mail from Sugarlips. I've realized when it comes to choosing garments, I'm really drawn to the color beige, so, of course, this beautiful piece is more than welcomed into my wardrobe. I really love the details of this dress. The two different textures on the front and back make it really interesting and special, and the unexpected pop of color on the hem gives it a really fun feel. I paired it with my go-to leather jacket to create a contrast between femininity and toughness, cinched the waist with a belt, threw on some black ankle boots, and voilà! Make sure to check out Sugarlips.com for a beautiful selection of clothing.

Cliff Dweller

(Leather Jacket: Gap, Skirt: nowistyle, Blouse: Proenza Schouler, Lace Button Up Shirt: Eyedoll, Ankle Boots: Mossimo - Target)

I love my new black skater skirt that nowistyle kindly sent my way. It's such a versatile piece that can easily be dressed up or down, and worn a million different ways. This time, I decided to pair it with my new Proenza Schouler blouse that I lucked up and stumbled upon while shopping at UAL in New Orleans a few weeks ago. To battle the chill of this lingering winter weather (Not that I'm complaining, I much prefer a brisk, winter breeze over Southern heat and humidity any day.), I layered with this wine-colored, leather jacket that I found while browsing through my mom's closet a couple of days ago. Sorry, Mom, I doubt you'll be getting this piece back anytime soon! Also, as you can see, I recently chopped some of my hair off. Looking at the pictures, it doesn't really look like as much of a difference as it does in person. My hair has been the same for quite some time now, and I felt it was time for a slight change of pace... And let's face it, I was long overdue for a nice trimming, anyway.

Cotton Candy - Nashville Styling Job

Photography: Brenna Gentry
Hair & Makeup: Lisa Johnson
Jewelry: Elizabeth Cooke

About a month ago, I had the wonderful opportunity of working as the stylist on this really cool, cotton candy-inspired shoot in Nashville. As you can see, there was some major talent involved. From the modeling by the ever so beautiful Nila, to the flawless and fun hair and makeup by Lisa, to the superb photography by Brenna, and the absolutely stunning, hand-crafted jewelry by Elizabeth, I was really just honored to be a part of the mix and see these great talents at work. I'm so happy to be sharing this project with you all and I'm really excited to see what you all think.

Bundled

(Shirt: Mine, Jacket: Monteau Los Angeles, Skirt: Gap, Scarf: Gap, Boots: Acne, Glasses: Warby Parker)

Hi, everyone! It's been a few days, so I thought I would share a quick outfit post with you all. I really love the color, pleating, and fit of this wool skirt from Gap, but unfortunately, I always think to wear it at the complete wrong time of the year when the weather is scorching hot. As you would probably assume, wool and Alabama heat don't exactly mesh. So, finally, I've taken advantage of the cool temps while they last and put this great piece to use.

Apricot + Gold + Black

(Shirt: Pinkyotto, Faux Fur Vest: Lucky Brand, Faux Leather Pants: H&M, Heels: Thrifted, All Jewelry: Antique)

When in doubt or just in a hurry, I go with what I already know I love. Currently, what I tend to gravitate toward in my closet are cute, feminine blouses, faux fur vests, and rocking, faux leather pants. Also, I've never been one opposed to a red lip. And of course, I threw on some of my favorite antique jewelry pieces because I just don't quite feel myself without them. What are your favorites in your own wardrobe?

Wednesday Wear

(Jacket: nowistyle, Button-Up: Urban Outfitters, T-Shirt: Gap, Jeans: J Brand, Heels: Forever 21, Clutch/iPad Case: Proenza Schouler for Target/Neiman Marcus, Aviators: Ray-Ban)

I really, really love my new jacket courtesy of nowistyle. It reminds me a lot of the shearling jackets from Acne, which I have been eyeing for sometime now, but considering the pricey cost, only from afar. I've been snuggled up in this great jacket all day to combat these quite chilly temperatures here in Alabama. I'm also super crazy about this really cool iPad case (or, in this case, clutch) by Proenza Schouler for Target and Neiman Marcus. Technically, it is an iPad case, but to be honest, I had no idea when I bought it. Personally, I think it works quite nicely as a clutch. Hurray for versatility! Haha. Hope you all have a wonderful night.
