Velvet Snow

(Coat: Free People, Pants: Free People, Boots: Target - Similar: here, Shawl: Vintage, Faux Fur Scarf: Thrifted)

I have to admit, it feels a bit odd posting these snow pictures now considering this week it has been so warm that I have driven with the windows down and convertible top back almost everywhere I've gone. Needless to say, Alabama weather is notoriously unpredictable, and it's not at all out of character to have full out sunshine only a week after having powdery, white snow covering the ground. For this look in the snow, I went with a bit more color. I paired my  brocade coat with my ruby red velvet pants and a matching lip color. I also threw on a vintage shawl I picked up back in the fall in New York. To avoid ruining any of my leather shoes in the slush, I went with some black rain boots to match my faux fur black scarf. Sadly, this is the last of my snow outfit posts considering snow doesn't seem to be on the near horizon... But then again, who knows...

Frozen

Just a little taste of the snow from last week.

Snow White

(Shirt & Skirt: Vintage Neiman Marcus, Needlepoint coat: Vintage, Scarf: Thrifted, Boots: Target - Similar: here)

Snow! We finally got snow! Surprisingly, where I live was graced with a blanket of snow as far as the eye could see. And yes, as the story goes, when snow hits in the South, the whole town shuts down. Basically, my family and I were stuck in the house for almost an entire week. Though, that was nothing Netflix couldn't fix. After being cooped up in my pajamas for a couple of days, I finally decided to get out in the glorious (but very cold) powdery white snow and snap a few pictures. For this look, I played up the white tones of my surroundings and wore my vintage Neiman Marcus shirt/skirt set. To top the look, I added my 1960s needlepoint coat. I kept with the beige tones in the outfit for my scarf. Then, I threw on some antique jewelry and my rain boots to fight the slush.

Brocade & Bella Vista

(Jacket: Free People, Sweater: Zara, Shirt: Free People, Jeans: Urban Outfitters, Flats: J. Crew Factory, Hat: Forever 21, Belt: Lucky Brand, Necklace: Doxahlogy, Bag: Beara Beara)

My new Bella Vista bag from Beara Beara is the perfect slouchy barrel bag. It's expandable enough to throw all of my stuff in it, but the leather's also soft enough so that if it's not full, it's not stiff. This bag is also a prime example of how to make black and brown look oh so good together. Personally, I've never been a fan or follower of the anti black and brown rule. This casual look was for a day spent in classes, so I paired the bag with my charcoal jeans, black bow flats, a navy striped t, and a beige sweater. I played with a bit of mixed patterns and paired my brocade jacket with the rest of the look. Also, because my roots are in desperate need of a touch-up, I topped the look off with a black hat. Another rough hair day, another hat to save the day. Thank goodness for that, right?

Bella Vista

(Beara Beara - Bella Vista)

I'm absolutely crazy about the Bella Vista bag that Beara Beara so kindly sent my way. I can't wait to show you all how I style it. Stick around for an upcoming outfit post featuring this beauty.

Mad Hatter

(Sweater: Free People - Similar: here, Dress: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target, Top hat: Road Kill 13, Shawl: Thrifted, Scarf: Thrifted, Shoes: Thrifted Watch: Fossil)

This has been one of my favorite outfits as of late... Most likely because it's very similar to being wrapped up in about five blankets, and how could I not love that? So cozy and warm. Also, any outfit while wearing my top hat automatically gets a few extra gold stars in my book.

Prom Picks

(Click the photo to shop the dress!)

Do you know what’s approaching? If you’re a teenage girl, I'm quite sure you are very well aware... It’s prom! During my days of high school, I went to my fair share of proms to know that, at this point, you’re either in one of two positions. Either, one, you are over the moon because you have scored the most beautiful, fairytale-esque prom dress of your dreams. Or, on the other, much more common side of things, you have, give or take, a month left until the big night, and you're still ceaselessly searching for that perfect dress... In other words, panicking. Well, search no more! Though, my prom days are long gone, searching for the dress was one of my favorite parts of the whole shebang... Well, apart from the dancing, of course. With that being said, I have compiled a list of some of my favorite dresses out there at the moment. Because I believe every girl should feel like Cinderella on her prom night. Now, your chariot awaits, my lady.

Foggy

(Shirt: Pinkyotto, Jacket: my mom's, Jeans: BDG, Flats: Similar here, Glasses: Warby Parker, Hat: Urban Outfitters - similar here, Bag: Michael Kors, Necklaces: Doxahlogy)

On foggy days, I always seem to lean toward an outfit heavily concentrated in black. For this particular day, I paired a long black jacket (that's actually my mom's), black skinny jeans, and a black hat together. I brought a little bit of color to the look with red flats and red lipstick. I also added a bit of contrast against the black with a brown leather bag and a flesh tone blouse. Another favorite part about this look is the addition of two more incredible necklaces from Doxahlogy.
