Summertime, I'll Make You Mine

Mini-dresses are another summer staple of mine, particularly ones with cute little sleeves. I really love this one from Girls on Film. Pastel pink is one of my favorite colors to wear because I feel as though it compliments the paleness of my hair color. The metallic sheen and cool texture of this dress just packs an extra punch. To jazz it up a bit and add some color, I threw on my... wait for it... blue suede shoes. Well, peep-toe pumps, to be exact. But hey, I couldn't resist. I recently picked up this beautiful needlepoint bag at an antique store while on vacation. I thought it was really unique given that this style (or in my findings, at least) is typically made into a much smaller bag. Plus, the detailing of the flowers and gold clasp was just too beautiful to pass up. To bring the black of the bag into the rest of the look, I added an oversized tuxedo vest. I also really liked the contrast between masculine and feminine with the vest and the dress. To finish the look and combat the glare of the summer sun, I added my new cat eye sunnies from zeroUV. Seriously, if you are in need of some new sunglasses, check them out. Cool shades, cooler prices.

Stars & Bars

(Protect & Serve iPhone 5/5s Case: Zero Gravity)

I absolutely love my new phone case from Zero Gravity. I'm very particular about phone cases because I rarely switch up, but this one is quite awesome. The case makes the phone really easy to hang onto, which eases the constant panic of almost dropping it and having to ninja around to try and catch it... Sometimes successfully, sometimes not so successfully... Also, the metallic silver with the jet-black really adds some pizzaz. Check out their website (which is offering 10% off for joining their mailing list) for more really cool cases.

Vintage Florals

Summer is a tricky season for me. During the cooler months of the year, I typically try to draw interest into my outfits by layering and mixing prints and textures. However, with the sudden element of heat and humidity to work around, that can be a bit difficult. With that being said, when summer comes, I like to add interest with beautiful prints, flowing silhouettes, and hats.

Memorial Day Weekend

In need of some Memorial Day weekend outfit ideas? Check out the collage Teen Vogue featured on their website inspired by a previous outfit post of mine. In my opinion, overalls are always a solid choice for any fun summer festivities. Click here to see the full slideshow to gather more inspo. And happy long weekend!

Trillium Dress

The final of my ERIN SS14 by Erin Fetherston features is the stunning Trillium Dress. The delicate ivory lace detailing as well as the scalloped edge of this shift dress immediately caught my eye. Just as the other ERIN dresses I've had the privilege of featuring, this one is also incredibly versatile. It could so easily transition from day to night, casual to dressy. I chose to add some color with a vintage turquoise kimono and an antique opal bib necklace. For the shoes, I kept it simple with single strap black sandals.

Dahlia Dress

To say I am completely, without a doubt, 100% obsessed with this dress would be an absolute understatement. As you may remember, this is one of the dresses I styled for the April 2014 Teen Vogue prom feature (click here to see how I styled it before). And while it was in my possession for those three short days in January when I was shooting the feature, I literally lusted over it the entire time. Needless to say, when Erin Fetherston approached me to style more looks for her ERIN SS14 collection, there was no way I was going to pass this dress up. The styling potential this dress has seems to remain boundless, but one factor always stays constant - the element of fun. Every time I put this dress on, the possibilities for that day or night seem endless and exciting. Plus, it has pockets! And, now tell me, who seriously doesn't love a dress with pockets?

For round two, I paired the dress with black leather go-go boots, for a bit of a mod vibe. Atop the dress, I kept up the sparkle and added a black sequined blazer. And for the final rockstar touch (because, let's be real, this dress makes me feel like a rockstar), I added some killer, jet-black shades.

Pansy Dress

From the pattern, to the texture, to the cut, this dress is gorgeous. And extremely diverse, as well. Not only is it incredible for casual summer days, but it can also easily be jazzed up into the perfect dress for going out at night. I'm also very excited to pair this dress with tights and layers come fall and winter. Like the rest of the ERIN SS14 collection, this dress is seriously dreamy.

For this go around, I went with a bit of an edgy, city-inspired look. I paired the dress with an oversized black blazer, a black felt hat, and brown leather ankle boots (as you can tell, I'm not a follower of the anti-black and brown rule). As accessories go, I mixed some of my favorite rings and bracelets with a mens watch (which I stole from my dad, haha). As with any look, I always have to throw in some antique/vintage pieces, as I chose to do here with the oversized pendant necklace and tapestry clutch.
