Let's be real, summers in Alabama are intense. Despite this summer being a bit on the milder side, any amount of heat, great or small, is a bit too much for my winter soul to handle. However, luckily light and airy dresses exist, making the weather somewhat bearable. This dotted number is one of my new faves. It's summer appropriate while still lending to the quirky side. And if there's any print I love as much as polka dots, it's leopard print. So what better thing to do than to pair them both together? Print overload = a happy Hannah. I accessorized with my latest jewelry pieces from Cate & Chloe, which really complement my other everyday accessories. Finally, I added these cool round sunnies, which really seem to complete the look and emphasize the black of the dress.

Walk the Plank

Boxy shift dresses are a summer staple for me. They are effortless and easy, all while creating a stylish and funky silhouette. I really love this one from Rebecca Taylor. The fabric choice is so soft and comfortable, and the variation of color really makes it unique. I paired it with some nude peep-toe ankle boots and my Mulberry Bayswater bag. The final touch to the look was a bright pop of color thanks to my favorite hat.

Mulberry Bayswater

(Bayswater Bag: Mulberry / Sunglasses: Prada)

At long last, I finally possess my very own Mulberry Bayswater! I've always viewed the Bayswater as one of those classic and iconic bags that will never go out of style and will complement any look no matter one's age. Why yes, I do plan to still be proudly toting this bag when I'm 50! It's totally an investment piece, but after carrying around my Alexa for the past two years and not tiring of it for a second, I knew that I couldn't go wrong with another Mulberry. I already know that this is one of those bags that will only get more beautiful with age, thus making me fall more and more in love with it.

Anything but Basic

(Vest: Asos / Shirtdress: Rebecca Taylor / Pants: Forever 21 - Similar: here or here / Wedges: Bandolino / Sunnies: Wholesale Celeb Shades / Watch: Michael Kors / Pinky & Knuckle Ring: Infinitine)

For the most part, this outfit is composed primarily of very basic pieces; however, styled together, they come across as much more than that. My latest favorite addition to my wardrobe is the white shirtdress from Rebecca Taylor. The layering possibilities for this piece are seemingly endless, and for someone like me, who thrives on layering, that is exciting. I paired the shirtdress over pants to give a bit of a change up from normal outfit lengths. Because the white button-up is on the longer side, it allows the floral pattern of the pants to pop out last minute, which I think is a really cool twist. To break up the white, I added a black vest with a longer hemline in the back to really push the uncommon lengths to the extreme. I feel the vest pulls in the black background of the pants quite nicely, as well. To bring out the feminine feel of the florals, I chose a ladylike pair of wedges. The straps really highlight the ankles (I'm strangely obsessed with ankles and wrists) and give length to the front of the foot, which I believe lends way to the illusion of longer legs (win!). Finally, I threw on these incredible round sunnies, that really packed a statement and had me feeling like Linda Rodin, which, P.S., is my life goal.

Gatsby

(Photos by Kayla Cobb)

Flashback Friday to The Great Gatsby styled shoot Kayla Cobb shot of my friend, Andrew, and me forever ago. I'm way late on sharing these, but hey, better late than never, as they say. We all had such a fun time shooting this, and as always, I'm completely blown away by Kayla's creative eye for the perfect shot.
