Breathing, reflecting, but continually pushing forward is entirely necessary. Things I've been reminding myself throughout this hectic week.

I really became obsessed with & Other Stories this summer while I was in New York. One of my favorite finds from the brand is this pair of sandals. I really love the unique, thick heel. For one, it makes them so much funkier than most, and two, they are actually comfortable (something NYC really makes you appreciate). I paired them with some extreme culottes, which lend to the illusion of a skirt, but are much more convenient when jumping in and out of cabs as frequently as I did. I also expanded my scarf collection this summer while wandering through as many of the city's vintage stores as I could on the weekends. The color and print this one just gives the outfit that extra little bit of something.

I recently ran up on this beauty on eBay. Jacket weather is my favorite weather and I'm so excited about busting this one out for the chillier days to come. I love the extra bit of detailing this one has. The stitching and brass toned buttons are a sure way to jazz up any look.

I often find it difficult to run up on pieces that are just as suitable for hot weather as they are to my taste. Summers past I've always tended to not put much into my summer wardrobe because it was never that important. But having worked all summer in New York, I quickly realized that needed to change. While in New York, I ran up on this white eyelet shorts and jacket set toward which I was instantly drawn. I think it works so well with the soft colors of the sand and water. Because I was on the beach, I styled it a bit differently that I typically would. In this instance, I really like the juxtaposition of the really dressy high-neck blouse paired with the swim top. Beachwear doesn't have to be boring.
I recently had the incredibly fun opportunity to throw a party as a part of Teen Vogue's Back to School Saturday series. Getting to dress up, have friends over, listen to records, have tea and yummy scones, and sample incredible products kindly sent by Teen Vogue, was the perfect way to kick off a new semester at Auburn.
